Hi Yall
Its been a good long while since i posted on here about our cycle for smiles. There have been some good and some bad developments. Lets start with the good. Well i have been getting fitter and fitter in anticipation for the cycle, Ive lost alot of weight and am getting closer and closer to being match fit. The actual cycle practice has been none since i moved to Cornwall. I have only managed to get the bike out today and have a look at her.
I did go to lands end the other day as its not far and saw the starting point where we will begin our journey, it was quite a daunting thought when there that i would soon be on a bike about to cross a 1000 miles of country.
The bad news is that we have most likely 2 members dropping out, My good friend Darren has work commitments and this will also be the case for Pete as well, although i must add that's not set in stone yet. That leaves me and my good friend Johnny as the only 2 certs so far. The bike has been coming along with bits and bats, Ive picked up some panniers which completes alls i need for the actual bike. I have also been picking up re hydration tablets, and recovery shakes, all focused on the cycle. The next job will be to plan out the routes and get that going. The development of Darren not being able to make it has led to us having more time to complete the trip, which i think is a blessing. We know have the month of August to do so, i am still aiming to complete it within 21 days, but it does mean we can now take 10 miles a day off, making it only 50 miles a day, we can also throw in a few days off if we are really feeling the burn.
